Malta Calendar of Events for November 2019

Here is a sample of the many cultural and artistic events taking place on the Maltese Islands during November 2019.



The Classique Foundation will be presenting the second edition of the festival MUSIC+ until 1 November. This festival will include recitals by top international and local artists, masterclasses in clarinet, violin and piano, talks, workshops for primary school children and an opera written for children. 22. THEATRE: Séance

Dr Thomas Charles Craig: Séance is a one-hour live, interactive, theatrical experience that blends historical fact, psychological illusion, misdirection, and history into a seamless and unforgettable supernatural audience adventure. 3. FESTIVAL: Festival Mediterranea

Festival Mediterranea is an annual celebration of culture let off at the very heart of the Mediterranean, on the history-laden island of Gozo. 4. FESTIVAL: Three Palaces Festival 2019

A week-long festival with performances set in historically important and magnificent buildings, the Three Palaces Festival is fast becoming an important appointment in Malta’s cultural calendar. Taking place in Valletta from 1 to 10 November, the 7th edition of the festival will once again see the participation of artists of exceptional talent from around the world. 5. MUSIC: Not Just The Wall

Not Just The Wall will be performed at the Teatru Aurora in Gozo on 2 November. It will feature major tracks from Pink Floyd’s iconic The Wall album. Various tracks from the vast Pink Floyd Catalogue, will also be performed. More information from: www.teatruaurora.com


6. Music: The Ave Marias

David Lewiston Sharpe who will be premiering his own work at this special, exciting event. Mr. Sharpe has written his own setting of Ave Maria which will be premiered in this concert alongside other Ave Maria arias. This special one-time event will be on at St Augustine Priory on 2 November. Soprano Marita Bezzina takes the stage to perform the extraordinary and enchanting repertoire of Ave Marias. 7. Festival: The Malta Book Festival 2019

8. THEATRE: Accidental Death of an Anarchist

Masquerade is bringing the criminally comical Accidental Death of an Anarchist, the famous cold case written back in the 70s, to the local stage this November. With an all-female cast, director Ian Moore hopes to give the adaptation a fresh perspective when it comes to the battle between the individual and the establishment. Accidental Death Of An Anarchist will be staged at Blue Box – M Space, Oscar Zammit Street, Msida, on 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16 November. More information from: www.masquerademalta.com


9. MUSIC: Omaggio a Giusepi Verdi

The Societa’ Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette of Valletta will be presenting a special Operatic and Symphony Band Concert entitled Omaggio a Giuseppe Verdi /Tribute to Giuseppe Verdi on 9 November 2019 at the Auditorium, Catholic Institute, Floriana. 10. MUSIC: Disco Fever

11. MUSIC: Operetta Highlights

Bulgarian-born soprano Andriana Yordanova will grace the Refectory at Palazzo Falson in Mdina to sing vivacious excerpts from some of the well-loved operettas that are entertaining, satirical and witty on 14 November. More information from: http://www.barocco-malta.com


12. THEATRE: Vitori by Cirque du Soleil

For the first time ever, Cirque du Soleil will present an exclusive and original live performance in Malta for the 40th anniversary of the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta from 27 November to 20 December. More information from: https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/vitori
