1. FAMILY: Christmas in the City

The Ministry for Tourism and Consumer Protection, together with the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, and the Valletta Cultural Agency, launched Christmas in the City, a programme of events for the coming weeks planned to liven up the city. https://www.vca.gov.mt/en/events

2. COMEDY: Comedy Knights' House Party

The Comedy Knights want to make sure we all end this year with a smile, so they’ve created a brand-new show which will be streamed live to your living room, bedroom or wherever you can get an internet connection. 3. FAMILY: Drive-Thru Christmas

DATE:Until 3 January
VENUE:Crafts Village, Ta’ Qali

An immersive, interactive, and safe Christmas concept for the whole family to enjoy. Imagine a journey along a 1km route made within a controlled space, while in your car, you, and your family will set out to discover a varied selection of crafts. Pass beneath tunnels of light, enter the Christmas villages, dash through the snow, and much more along the way for all the family to enjoy in their own safe space. 4. MUSIC: An Evening with Richard Strauss

DATE:6 January
VENUE:Manoel Theatre, Valletta

5. MUSIC: Schubert & Liszt - piano recital by Michael Laus

DATE:9 January
VENUE:Manoel Theatre, Valletta

Michael Laus graduated in piano, harpsichord, composition, and conducting at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi of Milan in 1982. Principal Conductor of Malta’s national orchestra for 25 years and now its Resident Conductor, he has conducted the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in symphonic concerts both in Malta’s main concert venues and abroad. 6. FAMILY: The Magical Illuminated Trail: Drive-Thru Edition

DATE:Until 10 January
VENUE:Gianpula Fields, Limits of Rabat

Journey through a delightful after-hours experience full of textures, colors and atmosphere created by larger-than-life illuminated structures and sculptures, light installations, and much more festive cheer. Drive through the tunnels of light, twinkling with thousands of fairy-lights and be amazed by the larger-than-life characters dotted along the trail for all ages to enjoy. 7. DANCE: The Murmuring of Trees

DATE:12 & 13 January
VENUE:Manoel Theatre, Valletta

8. FESTIVAL: The Valletta Baroque Festival 2021

DATE:15 - 24 January
VENUE:Valletta

Valletta, Malta’s Baroque Capital City and a Unesco World Heritage Site, hosts this unique festival in its historic churches and palaces. More information from https://www.vallettabaroquefestival.mt/

9. ART: Dehumaneation

DATE:15 January – 28 February
VENUE:Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta

Dehumaneation is an exhibition that will combine paintings by Shaun Grech, film, an installation, narratives, and critical debate to explore these complex concepts. Curated by Prof. Raphael Vella and using Dehumaneation as an invented word, concept, and probe, the artists will bring three concepts together to address a range of instances and manifestations of this intersectional space.
